The New Apostolic Church in Jesus Christ, Inc. (NACIJC) was founded through divine direction and a commitment to Apostolic fellowship. The organization’s roots trace back to 1991 when Dr. Vera M. Davis was led by God to establish the Apostolic Faith in Jesus Christ, Inc. This vision emerged from the Fifth Sunday fellowship shared among Nazareth Apostolic Church, Outreach Tabernacle, and Turevine Holiness Church in Hartsville, South Carolina.
As God blessed the membership of each church, pastors recognized the growing need to remain committed to ministry within their local congregations while preserving the fellowship and unity that had been established. Although the original Fifth Sunday fellowship format was discontinued, the desire for continued spiritual connection remained strong, laying the foundation for what would become a larger Apostolic movement.
In 1993, God inspired Bishop Vera M. Davis to formally establish the Apostolic Church in Jesus Christ, Inc. What began as a fellowship among a few churches quickly expanded from two congregations to six churches. That same year, the first Holy Convocation was held at Nazareth Apostolic Church in Hartsville, South Carolina. The Convocation originally began on a Wednesday and concluded on Sunday morning, eventually evolving into the annual weeklong gathering that continues today.
The early churches of the organization included Nazareth Apostolic Church, Outreach Tabernacle, New Life, Glorious Pentecostal, Deliverance Tabernacle, and The Way of Life Church of Jesus Christ. Throughout the years, membership within the organization has changed as God directed leaders into various areas of ministry. Under the leadership of Bishop Vera M. Davis and faithful servants such as the late Bishop Ethel McNair, the organization continued to grow in influence and spiritual impact.
Recognizing the importance of biblical education and leadership development, Dr. Davis established the Apostolic Church in Jesus Christ Bible School in partnership with the late Bishop Ethel McNair and the late Dr. Davis Dean of the First Dean of the school. To reflect its mission of serving believers from all Apostolic backgrounds, the institution was later renamed Elohim Community Bible College. On May 19, 1996, fifty two students graduated from the college’s inaugural diploma and degree program.
Education, training, and leadership development have remained central to the mission of NACIJC. The organization has continually invested in pastors, elders, ministers, deacons, and church leaders through biblical instruction and practical ministry training. Members receive preparation for conducting marriages, baptisms, funerals, Holy Communion services, and other aspects of Apostolic ministry. The organization stands firmly upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone.
As the ministry expanded, NACIJC evolved into The New Apostolic Church in Jesus Christ, Inc., a strong and unified fellowship representing churches throughout the United States. Current and former member churches include Glorious Pentecostal, Deliverance Tabernacle, Galilee Apostolic, Chief Cornerstone, World Harvest, Faith Holiness, Antioch, Faith Mission, and Redeem Seed Deliverance Kingdom Ministries.
Today, NACIJC Fellowship continues to fulfill its mission through annual Holy Convocations, conventions, leadership conferences, and ministry training opportunities. These gatherings provide spiritual enrichment and practical resources for the entire family, including workshops on church administration, financial stewardship, health and wellness, marriage and family relationships, and biblical education for all ages.
For more than three decades, NACIJC has remained committed to advancing the Apostolic faith, developing leaders, strengthening churches, and building a legacy of unity, education, and service. Guided by the vision God gave to Bishop Dr. Vera M. Davis and sustained by the dedication of faithful leaders and members, the organization continues to stand as a beacon of faith, fellowship, and Apostolic excellence.

“Truly, God wants to change your life around, give you resurrection power, cancel your past, change your personality, conquer your problems, change your attitude and give you a second chance to make it right.”
2 Corinthians 3:18 says: “But we all, with open face beholding as to a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.” The theme of that Convocation was: “God’s Power to Change your Life.”
